Tammy Roig was born Tammy Carmouche in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her father being Cajun French and her grandmother being American Indian, she grew up in a broad range of cultures. Being an author was never in her plans, but writing always came easy.
She was married in the spring of 1984 to David Roig, and they eventually had three children. Tammy and her husband accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior on December 3, 1995.
Over the years, the Lord started giving her dreams — dreams that have even yet to come to pass. One day the Lord gave her a dream that was the inspiration for this book. It took her years to complete this work of fiction.
Her hope is that it will inspire readers to remember that even through times when we feel we are separated from God, or when we have chosen the wrong path, the Lord loves us and will work all things for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. She shares the hopes and dreams of two young children and their struggles through life. The hope is that you will be inspired to continue to live your best life with the Lord at the center.
New Orleans
Tammy was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she spent most of her life. Her mother was from the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, and her father was from the heart of Cajun country — his family spoke Cajun French, though Tammy never learned the language herself.
Family
Tammy married David Roig in March 1984, and the two are still together today. They have three children, each born ten years apart. Her oldest daughter, Brittany Williams, lives in Michigan with her husband, Chaz, and their daughter, Anna. Her daughter Gabrielle lives in Colorado with her son, Parker. Her son, Joel, still lives at home.
Tammy spent much of her life close to her first cousins on her mother’s side, as close as siblings — and they still mean the world to her today.
Hints Inside the Book
Some of what happens within the pages of Inseparable is drawn directly from Tammy’s own life.
Hannah Grace, born December 27th, was the daughter Tammy lost when she was seven and a half months pregnant. In the novel, Katie’s birthday is December 27th.
The mattresses on the floor were, in reality, how Tammy and her cousins spent weekends at their grandmother’s house — one of several small, hidden pieces of her own story woven into the book.
As you read, stop and think about what could really have been real.
