The Story Behind Inseparable
Every novel begins somewhere.
Many years ago, God gave Tammy a dream — a dream that would ride the waves of time. In a small snippet of an early-morning dream, she saw a swimming pool, and above that pool, a cascading waterfall. A lush green hill stood high above the waterfall, with a building behind it. A young boy and a young girl stood beside the pool. When she awoke, she knew that dream was meant to be a book.
She wrote the dream in a notebook and forgot all about it. Then one day, she began to write. The title Inseparable was conceived before the first word was written. The book grew from there — first just a story, then the dialogue, then what life adds: tragedy and hard times.
After losing her cousin Scott, she came home from his funeral with COVID. There was nothing to do for a whole week, so she picked up her computer and, lying in her bed, added Scott to the story. With encouragement from a fellow author, she kept adding to it.
After praying about who she could trust with the book, she came across an ad on social media: Trilogy Christian Publishing was looking for new authors. She knew this was her chance. Even with the thought that it wasn’t good enough, she contacted their staff and submitted it. Within a couple of days, they came back and wanted to publish. Here we are today, with open doors ahead — Inseparable is being released!
Why She Wrote It
It’s the knowing in your knower. In other words, Tammy believes the book was inspired by the Lord. Having a dream is one thing, but knowing when she woke up that that dream had a purpose.
She believes that when you know God gives you a gift, you have to do something with it. It’s not only meant for financial gain or popularity, it is to be used for His Glory! To get the name of the Lord out there by any means of transportation, whether in a book, through a sermon, or in music.
She prays that this story, this gift from God, will reach people for the Lord in ways that maybe other things cannot.
Hints Inside the Book
Some of what happens within the pages of Inseparable is drawn directly from Tammy’s own life.
Hannah Grace, born December 27th, was the daughter Tammy lost when she was seven and a half months pregnant. In the novel, Katie’s birthday is December 27th.
The mattresses on the floor were, in reality, how Tammy and her cousins spent weekends at their grandmother’s house — one of several small, hidden pieces of her own story woven into the book.
